The Very Hungry Caterpillars!
The caterpillars have doubled in size in two short days. We infer that they'll change soon as we've observed them climbing to the top of the container. Thanks to Gabby for providing a perfect home for our second praying mantis. If both stayed in the same container, one would eat the other! Thanks to Mitchell, Natalie, and Natalia for the praying mantis food or information.

Insects Alive!
Today our caterpillars were quite active. We noticed a big change in their size and saw several exoskeletons!
The praying mantis' hatched...hundreds of tiny, jumpy insects. We have two in our classroom container. Students have two homework tasks tonight; bring in a tiny insect to feed to the praying mantis if you can find any, research what a praying mantis might eat!
