Pumpkin Farm Field Trip

We will be traveling to Jim's Pumpkin Farm on October 11th. Look for the field trip permission form next week in your child's home folder. If you would like to be a chaperone on this trip, be sure to have completed the volunteer forms distributed at our open house. Additional forms can be obtained in the office or by calling me! We will depart Wilson at approximately 9:30a.m. and return by 1:00p.m. We will eat lunch at the farm. In preparation for our trip,  we will research the life stages of a pumpkin using our iPads.

Headphones

During our literacy time, students are reading and listening to stories using their iPads. Several students have ear buds or headphones kept at school in a plastic bag. If your child does not have headphones or ear buds, he/she will use a pair of "community headphones" provided by the school.

Today was our first day using the class set of IPads.

Sunday, September 2, 2012

Every child in our classroom will work with an IPad. I recently downloaded 125 math, literacy, and social studies apps on each IPad. I am anxious to incorporate these applications in daily classroom instruction. In addition to this new technology, I hope this blog will be a useful tool in communicating classroom news quickly and efficiently to you!
Welcome to a new school year in room 208 at Wilson School!
