Wild Things
We read the story, Where The Wild Things Are, and created our own wild thing masks. As we sang our song, "Who is behind the masked face, nobody knows but me..." students throughout the school had to guess who we were.
Snacks Needed
We currently have a few boxes of chewy granola bars remaining in our snack supply. This should cover two snack breaks for next week. I would like to collect our next round of snack supplies beginning next week. Please send a healthy snack that will be enough for 18 students. Thank you!!!
Photographs Requested
We continue to learn about narrative writing, writing a personal "small moment" from our hearts. Please send to school a few pictures of people, places, or things that are important to your child. These photos will be kept in a pocket protector in your child's writing folder all year.

Pumpkin Seed Count!
It was "pumpkin math" all week for the math teams of Azzolina, Gosch, and Goral! We estimated the amount of seeds we thought our three pumpkins contained, found adjectives to describe the outside and inside of each pumpkin, and counted the lines around the pumpkins. Did you know that pumpkins with many lines have many seeds? Our medium sized pumpkin had 28 lines and yielded 703 seeds. Students counted seeds by 2's, 5's, and 10's. Of course, we carved the pumpkins too! Mrs. Gosch's pumpkin was the polygon pumpkin...ask your child to describe a polygon! Ms. Azzolina's pumpkin was the Abe Lincoln pumpkin. Ms. Goral's group made a funny pumpkin.

Pumpkin Farm
We had a great day at the farm! Highlights included picking pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, a ride through the spooky woods, a video about the pumpkin life cycle, eating lunch in the wind, finding our way through the corn maze, and jumping in the hay.
